The Scottish born unDependence Film Festival is joining Leith Community Cinema on April 1st 2017 to screen a selection of some of the finest films from their 2016 programme.
For the 3rd year running unDependence are bringing their films to unusual screens across Edinburgh and Stirling, but first they will be joining us at Pilrig St Paul’s Church for an afternoon of films and discussions.
All of our films are linked by the theme of dependence, specifically the individual’s relationship to and dependence on the social and/or cultural context they find themselves in. From the personal to the political, they invite filmmakers to explore questions surrounding dependence through shorts, feature films, documentaries, animation and experimental work.
We are about more than just screening films, we aim to generate a creative community by hosting a series of filmmaking workshops, talks and Q&As to promote audience engagement. So come along to our exclusive Leith Community Cinema event that is part of our Film Festival 2017.
Our Community Cafe will be open from 1.30pm serving hot drinks and sancks for £2.
Venue – Pilrig St. Paul’s Church, 1B Pilrig Street, Leith EH6 5AH
