Leith Creative: gentrification film screening

Leith Creative has matched up Deptford Cinema in London with Leith Community Cinema to present this film programme surrounding the issue of gentrification at Pilrig Church at 3pm on the Friday of LeithLate17.
The programme includes Leith-related short films including ‘Banana Republic’ by Scott Calonico about Cables Wynd House (AKA the Banana Flats) and short doc ‘The Port’ by Rory Alexander Stewart about The Port O’ Leith Pub, followed by recent feature film ‘A Moving Image’ by Shola Amoo which looks at the role of artists in the gentrification process in Brixton. This free screening will be followed by a general discussion on the subject of gentrification in Leith hosted by Leith Creative.
